    The manufacturerof any product can put anything he wants for a date code, there are no guidelines or regulations to speak of. I was born in the 50's when there were No date codes on Anything. Over the years they've done an excellent job brainwashing each generation. About 20 years ago I saw a teenager lookng at a date and I asked them what they thought would happen if it was expired and they ate it ? They told me it would make them sick.
